Advocate for Asylum-Seekers and Families At the Border

Asylum seekers arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border are faced with a complex and often perilous journey, frequently driven by desperation and the hope for safety and security. Many of these individuals have fled their homelands due to persecution, violence, or extreme poverty, seeking refuge in the United States. However, upon reaching the border, they encounter a complex system of bureaucratic hurdles and lengthy processing times. Asylum seekers are generally allowed to remain lawfully in the United States while they wait for their cases to be heard. Asylum seekers often face extensive delays in their cases, waiting months or even years for their claims to be processed due to a shortage of immigration judges, bureaucratic inefficiencies and complex legal proceedings.
